The marine conservation charity is joining forces with a network of communities across the UK to tackle throw-away plastic. Read MoreFuture of Former Charity Shop Revealed
After being closed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, then failing to reopen afterwards, RUDDINGTON.info confirmed in June that, sadly, The Children’s Society Shop in our village was no more. It was a relatively short tenure at 2, Easthorpe Street for the kids’ charity, which only moved here early in 2018. Perhaps, being Ruddington’s third charity shop, it never quite achieved the custom they had hoped, despite their best efforts – with two different managers during its two years. Now the future of the premises has been revealed – as…

Specialist teams investigating reports of fraud totalling over £100,000 descended on a house on Musters Road earlier today as part of what they called “proactive and intelligence-led action” into the claims. Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Reacher team and investigators from the Department for Work and Pensions carried out the warrant as part of an investigation into false claims for benefits. It is alleged that members of the public had been coerced into giving personal details, which had then been used to falsely claim Universal Credit. Intelligence led officers to carry out…

Read MoreFlawforth Lane Shut This Week
As well as empty filling stations caused by panic buying, there’s another source of angst for Ruddington’s hard pressed motorists this week – the closure of Flawforth Lane. Thankfully it’s due to take place only from Monday 27th to Wednesday 29th September – substantially less than a previous three week closure sought last month by Linden Homes in connection with its ‘Blacksmith’s Green’ development. Although the contractor did shut the road for a few hours by mistake, seemingly due to a misunderstanding (top photo courtesy of Ruddington Mums), in the end that work…
