Elderly village residents and their carers are being urged to wait until they receive their notification from the NHS, rather than contacting Ruddington GPs or hospitals, or using web links shared by others to try to get an appointment earlier. Ruddington Vaccine Rollout Delayed by Coronavirus Outbreak

It’s been revealed that dozens of elderly residents at a village care home will have to wait a little longer to be immunised against COVID-19 because of an outbreak of the virus there. MyCare, which runs Orchard House on Easthorpe Street, has confirmed that routine testing picked up its first positive case on New Year’s Eve, at which point everyone was immediately put into quarantine. Emergency Road Closure in Ruddington

Villagers have been left bemused after Severn Trent Water workmen turned up to fix a mains leak in Ruddington this afternoon, closed the road, repaired the pipe, but then left the hole and went home. Consequently, Clifton Road remains completely shut* to traffic between the junction with Camelot Street and Old Station Drive – with the usually busy route set to stay closed into tomorrow. Rushcliffe Borough Council is promising even more focus on tackling the nuisance of fly-tipping, waste offences, littering and dog fouling in 2021, thanks to a new partnership. Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced that the popular event will be put on hold until April 3rd – Easter Saturday. The difficult decision by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) has been made on COVID-19 safety grounds following the recent surge in cases of the new variant Coronavirus which has recently led to a third national ‘lockdown’. Library Closed Again

It’s been confirmed that the doors to Ruddington Library will remain shut for an indefinite period during this third, national COVID-19 ‘lockdown’. A statement by Inspire Culture – which runs the service on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council – says it’s “committed to the wellbeing of staff and customers during the current Coronavirus pandemic.” The library had already been operating to very restricted hours since reopening after the first ‘lockdown’ and was also closed during the second ‘lockdown’ in November last year.
