Schools’ Jubilee Jamboree!

With events being held throughout Ruddington to mark The Queen’s 70 years on the throne, our two village schools wanted to make sure their pupils didn’t miss out because of the holiday. It’s been confirmed that the fifth stage of the ‘Tour of Britain’ will be passing right through Ruddington this summer. The elite cycle race will again come via the centre of our village on Thursday 8th September 2022 – four years to the day since the last time. As in 2018, the Nottinghamshire stage will begin on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and then pass via Wilford Road, High Street, Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road in Ruddington as part of the 118 mile route ending on Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield. ‘Offer Day’ Relief For Our Junior School Pupils

Children in their final year at St Peter’s in Ruddington are celebrating this week after it was confirmed they will be able to stay with their friends in September. Tuesday was ‘National Offer Day’ – when the parents and guardians of all current Year 6 pupils attending our village junior school were informed whether or not they had been successful in getting their son or daughter a place at their chosen secondary school. Ruddington Nature Pioneer Receives Recognition

The driving force behind a Ruddington nature reserve is among the winners of this year’s ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards’.  For 2021 a ‘physical’ ceremony returned – and was held last night (December 8th) at The Rushcliffe Arena.  Gordon Dyne, Chair of the South Notts Local Group of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, received recognition for his conservation work at Wilwell Farm Cutting Nature Reserve.
