It’s the last day of the traditional, family Funfair! Ruddington ‘Wakes’ – on from 2pm today (Sunday 26th June). If you’re a Ruddington resident, walking to the Funfair is recommended. For visitors not in the village there is some free onsite parking. Alternatively, except on Sunday, you can catch Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 bus service direct to the fair alighting at Paget Crescent bus stop. Ruddington ‘Wakes’ Funfair

This is an annual, traditional, family event. Ruddington ‘Wakes’ dates back over one hundred years, when the St Peter’s Feast was the start of the school holidays in the village (around the 29th of June). For 2022, the rides and attractions open at 5pm on Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th and from 2pm on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June. Platinum Jubilee Village Events

Join in Sunday’s final day of Ruddington events to celebrate Her Majesty’s record breaking reign – taking place at various village venues. To mark the The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, our village has been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays. Schools’ Jubilee Jamboree!

With events being held throughout Ruddington to mark The Queen’s 70 years on the throne, our two village schools wanted to make sure their pupils didn’t miss out because of the holiday. The school’s Summer Fair is back and you’re invited to the “Fun, Food and Family Fest” by Friends of James Peacock. Kidney transplant recipient and Ruddington resident, Mark Brown, is making his final preparations before representing Great Britain at the 10th Winter World Transplant Games (WWTG) in Anzere, Switzerland, next month. The 2018 Games take place from the 7th to 12th January, with Team GB comprising 12 adults and one junior – plus six children competing in the Nicholas Cup.
