Final Week For Your ‘Rudd Awards’ Nominations!

Nominations for the inaugural Rudd Awards will close this Sunday August 21st at 5pm, giving those wishing to nominate just a few more days to get in their entry for their favourite category.

The ‘Rudd Awards’ – launched by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) last month – celebrate independent businesses and community groups that are helping Ruddington to thrive by building a community hub and prosperous high street.

Ruddington residents and visitors are invited to nominate across six award categories that honour the great and the good within the Ruddington Village community, with each award sponsored by a different local business.

Emma Isichei of MHR

MHR is supporting the awards through its sponsorship of the ‘Champion Volunteer’ award.
Founded in the 1980s, MHR UK & Ireland is a specialist provider of HR, payroll, finance, and analytics software services. The family-owned business is headquartered in Ruddington and works with over 1400 companies, from SMEs to large multinational corporates.

Emma Isichei, chief marketing officer from MHR, says: “MHR’s involvement is reflective of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting its local community. The Rudd Awards displays the best of Ruddington community life and we’re proud to be announcing that we have signed a partnership for this year to be one of the event’s sponsors. As a local organisation and employer, we recognise the power of supporting our local community and we’re looking forward to supporting an event that puts the invaluable local community work and involvement at the forefront.”

Jayne Mayled of True Story

Ruddington-based True Story is another local firm backing the awards through sponsorship of the ‘Village Retailer or Service’ category.
An independent creative agency, True Story works with brands, retailers, businesses and organisations across all channels, both in the UK and globally.

Jayne Mayled, owner and managing director at True Story, says: “As a creative business working for retailers and brands based in the heart of Ruddington, we are pleased to sponsor the Retailer or Service award to recognise the great contribution retailers and service providers make to the thriving community and beyond.”

Other categories are sponsored by locally based businesses including, Artex as main sponsor and for ‘Heart of Ruddington’, Ideagen for ‘Young Star’, Ruddington Grange Golf Club for ‘Sports, leisure and culture’, Quotient Sciences for ‘Village hospitality’ and My Care, Ruddington Retirement Village for ‘Community Group’.

Mike Ader, Chair of RVCP adds: “We’ve already had an overwhelming response to our very first Rudd Awards and some great nominations across all our categories. The RVCP team is encouraging everyone to get involved and put forward their Ruddington favourites to recognise a range of individuals, groups and businesses that are making a real difference to building a vibrant and prosperous life in the village.”

People can put forward their favourites in each category, with a reason why they have been chosen online at www.rvcp.org.uk/awards. Paper forms are also available from the Parish Office in St Peter’s Rooms during office hours. Nominations for the awards are open until 21st August at 5pm.

The shortlist will be announced in September and judged by a local independent panel. The winners will be announced at the awards evening on Friday 18th November 2022 at St Peter’s Church, compered by BBC Radio Nottingham Drivetime presenter, Verity Cowley.
