Last August we reported how a Ruddington based software company had announced its latest expansion would lead to the creation of around 400 more jobs here – a number which was then raised to 500 posts this spring. Payroll giant MHR has its UK site at Ruddington Fields Business Park – in ‘Britannia House’ (currently being refurbished) and the newly built ‘Wellington House’. Woman Hospitalised by Snake Bite in Country Park

Visitors to Ruddington’s Country Park are being warned to take extra care after reports that a woman was bitten by an adder. The alarm was raised by a Facebook post from Linda Shearman on Thursday which says: “At the beginning of this week a friend of mine got bitten by a snake on Rushcliffe Country Park in Nottingham. She ended up in intensive care, but is now recovering at home. The hospital administered anti-venom, and confirmed it was an adder bite. She has informed the park warden and asked me to share…

Ruddington is kick-starting a celebration of local high streets in a new initiative from Rushcliffe Borough Council to promote the great businesses that exist within its communities. Families from the travelling community, who unexpectedly made Ruddington their home recently, have now officially been told to leave. Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) says an eviction notice was served upon the travellers today by the legal services firm it has employed to handle this matter. Our village is now home to families from the travelling community – after they gained access to Sellors Playing Field and moved their caravans and vehicles onto the recreation ground yesterday (Thursday) teatime. Outlets in Ruddington are being encouraged to join a new scheme enabling the public to refill their reusable water bottles here free of charge – and so reduce single-use plastics.
