A suspect from our village has appeared in court after Nottinghamshire Police found multiple wraps of crack cocaine when they raided a house. Officers made the discovery when they executed a warrant at a property in Middle Furlong Gardens, The Meadows, Nottingham, on Friday (17th November) at around 2.25pm. As well as the Class A drugs, it’s reported the officers also found a quantity of cannabis, mobile phones and weighing scales in the kitchen of the address. A man and two women found inside the property were arrested. Nottinghamshire Police have revealed two suspects were arrested in our village within the space of a few minutes this week thanks to a new crackdown on car thefts. Operational Support and Response officers have stepped up targeted patrols around the Edwalton area, following a recent rise in vehicle theft reports there, and were carrying out one such patrol when a car was taken from a local driveway. A man has been charged in connection with last week’s flat fire in Ruddington. Emergency services were called to Dunblane Road at 9.35pm on Thursday 12th October after concerns were raised for a man’s safety. Officers arrived and evacuated a number of residents after flames were seen coming from a first-floor flat. A man has been taken into police custody following a fire at a Ruddington property which they suspect was started deliberately. The blaze happened on Thursday night (12th October) when emergency services were called out to a house on Dunblane Road at about 9.35pm over concerns for a man’s safety. Rushcliffe Police are asking any villagers with further information to come forward following the arrest in Ruddington of two men with a large quantity of drugs. Officers were called to Asher Lane at around 11.15am last Wednesday, 4th October, following reports a car was being driven across farming land before becoming stuck. Two police patrol cars boxed the vehicle in as it attempted to leave the field. When the officers carried out a search they discovered a large amount of cannabis bagged up inside the vehicle. A Ruddington man has narrowly escaped a prison term after illegally claiming nearly £20,000 in housing benefit. Peter McConnachie (67), of Ling Crescent, was prosecuted at Nottingham Crown Court this week (September 13th) after Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) worked with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to spot a data-match in 2021.
