It’s been confirmed that the fifth stage of the ‘Tour of Britain’ will be passing right through Ruddington this summer. The elite cycle race will again come via the centre of our village on Thursday 8th September 2022 – four years to the day since the last time. As in 2018, the Nottinghamshire stage will begin on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and then pass via Wilford Road, High Street, Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road in Ruddington as part of the 118 mile route ending on Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield. Positive Response to Solar Farm Plans

Proposals for a renewable energy park on current agricultural land to the south west of Ruddington seem to have received a mostly favourable reaction from villagers so far. Further details about this planned green power project were revealed today (Tuesday 22nd March) by Ridge Clean Energy during the first of its two public exhibitions being held in St Peter’s Rooms. The solar farm would be built on 99 hectares of arable land belonging to Ruddington Fields Farm and involve installing solar PV, batteries, access tracks and associated infrastructure. Community Choir Celebrates Ten Years

This March marks the return of The Mustard Seeds Project‘s infamous fashion show – otherwise known as ‘Knickers for Knowledge’! As many villagers will already know, the Ruddington based project supports women and girls in rural Uganda through economic projects and educational initiatives. Organisers of Ruddington Village Market are planning something of a celebration this February – as the popular, monthly event celebrates its third birthday.
