A clear-up operation is underway following more mindless vandalism in our village – this time causing serious environmental pollution at a farm south of Rushcliffe Country Park. Following the UK Government’s announcement that English churches can reopen for private worship, St Peter’s Church in Ruddington has confirmed it is welcoming visitors again two days a week. Village Tennis Star “Feeling Stronger and Fitter” After Lockdown

Ruddington wheelchair tennis star and Tokyo Paralympics hopeful James Shaw believes that he has returned to on-court training stronger and fitter following the COVID-19 Coronavirus ‘lockdown’. Traders on Ruddington’s High Street have continued to mop up and assess the damage today after yesterday’s torrential rain which flooded many of their premises. The late afternoon downpour occurred as freak summer weather hit our village just after 5pm, turning roads into rivers in just minutes. Deluge Hits Ruddington!

Severe thunderstorms sweeping across the region, bringing with them violent, torrential rain, have caused flash flooding in our village centre along with other residential streets in Ruddington. The heaviest rain began just after 5pm – when many drains were simply unable to cope with the massive deluge. Car Parking Charges Return at Country Park

After six weeks of visitors being able to enjoy FREE parking since the partial reopening of Ruddington’s country park facilities to visitors, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has announced its charges will resume soon. With the further, recent Government easing of COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions, from Monday June 29th, the pay-and-display rate of £1 per day will be reintroduced – allowing a maximum 8 hour stay. Facial Coverings on Public Transport Become Compulsory

Monday 15th June 2020 is the date when a further easing of the Government’s COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ restrictions means non-essential shops in Ruddington are permitted to reopen. However, it’s also the day that wearing a facial covering becomes mandatory on all public transport – including Ruddington’s Green 10 (and soon the Navy 3) buses run by Nottingham City Transport. A Ruddington digital marketing expert has raised money for a charity in crisis after moving her training sessions online. Shamshad Walker started collecting cash for Headway Nottingham after hearing it was in difficulties. She moved her training sessions online after the COVID-19 pandemic hit and has been asking delegates to donate money to the local charity instead of taking the money herself.
