New Digital Retail Adviser Visits Ruddington

Ruddington’s independent fashion outlet on Church Street is among the Rushcliffe-based businesses now benefitting from professional advice to develop their digital offer alongside in-person sales at their retail premises. Utilising UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF), Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has contracted East Midlands Chamber’s Steve Phillips as one of its experienced Business Advisers to deliver the project here in Ruddington and beyond. RBC is one of the first authorities in Nottinghamshire to use this new £25,000 funding from central government to respond to the pressures our high street traders are facing currently. Between now…

Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale”

Nottingham Shakespeare Company is including Ruddington in its first winter tour – to perform The Bard’s ‘The Winter’s Tale’ – inside St Peter’s Church on Friday 3rd February 2023 at 7pm. NSC strips its plays down to 90 minutes with no interval; keeping all of Shakespeare’s storytelling, characters and language but creating an exciting, dynamic and accessible performance which communicates directly and physically with the audience. The company actively seeks out theatre makers and audiences who may not usually feel represented by Shakespeare, particularly from the disabled, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities. Unlike with NSC’s outdoor performances,…

Historic Ash Tree Felled by Developer

Ruddington residents overlooking the new Wilbur Chase development south of Musters Road are expressing their dismay that a large, mature tree next to the site has been chopped down today – despite their pleas to save it. The historic Ash tree sat on the boundary of the field owned by village businessman John Hallam and the former green belt agricultural land next to it – upon which Avant Homes is now constructing 175 controversially approved new houses. Retention of this 17 metre tall tree was clearly shown on the developer’s…

Ruddington Shoplifter Jailed

A prolific shoplifter has been put behind bars and banned from a number of local stores as Nottinghamshire Police continue their promised crackdown on repeat offenders. Further Navy 3 Timetable Changes

Just four months’ ago the axing of CT4N’s number 22 and 23 Ruddington services had the knock-on effect of Nottingham City Transport (NCT) re-routing some of its daytime Navy 3 buses away from our village. This was to maintain an hourly direct bus link from 8.30am to 3.30pm to the City Centre, Trent Bridge and Clifton Centre for the residents of Wilford Village and Silverdale (as service Navy 3A). It also meant that, between approximately 9.30am and 3.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays, Navy 3 buses began operating via Ruddington to Clifton only once an…
