Nottinghamshire Police have revealed two suspects were arrested in our village within the space of a few minutes this week thanks to a new crackdown on car thefts. Operational Support and Response officers have stepped up targeted patrols around the Edwalton area, following a recent rise in vehicle theft reports there, and were carrying out one such patrol when a car was taken from a local driveway. Two suspects have appeared in court following a police chase which ended with a car crash and an arrest in Ruddington. The pursuit began when officers from Nottinghamshire Police‘s Road Crime Team spotted a car which was known to them in Welbeck Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, at around 7.50pm on Monday (10th April). The vehicle was travelling with another car which earlier had been reported stolen. Motorists in Ruddington are being asked to watch out for suspicious behaviour around their parked cars and vans after criminals struck in our village again this week. Cannabis Crop Was July’s Crime Coup

Rushcliffe Police have revealed they seized 147 cannabis plants of different sizes and stages of cultivation during their early morning raid on a house in Asher Lane last month. It was after receiving tip-offs from the local community around suspicious, drugs related activity at the Ruddington address. Two men have been arrested in connection with a car key burglary in Ruddington. Nottinghamshire Police say: “We received a report, at 6.12pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 April 2019), that a house had been broken into in Ling Crescent and the victim’s car had been stolen. The stolen vehicle was later spotted on the A46 at Leicester. Rushcliffe Police are warning residents that several motor vehicles in our village were targeted by a thief over the weekend. Another Ruddington property was targeted by criminals early this morning – with the householders’ executive car taken during the raid. The burglary happened on Musters Road at around 5am today (Tuesday 1st May), just before sunrise. Rushcliffe Police report that a grey Mercedes E350 Hybrid vehicle was stolen with keys taken from the property. Officers returned to the scene later this morning to carry out fingerprinting.
