Closed Village Pub Set to Reopen

It’s been announced that a famous Ruddington public house which ceased trading during the pandemic will finally be opening again – following a significant makeover. When it relaunches, The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street will be known as ‘The Heart at Ruddington’, with more contemporary branding as shown above. Its new landlord will be Jack Robson, who’s already well known in village hospitality circles after working for, and then buying out, McArtney’s Catering from sisters Rosie and Nancy McArtney back in October 2015. Football Club’s Community Heart Tests

Organisers of a heart screening event in Ruddington at the weekend say they were delighted by the turnout. Hosted by Ruddington Village Football Club in the ‘Jubilee Clubhouse’ at Elms Park, a hundred young people aged from 14 to 35 went along to be tested by a specialist team from the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). They completed a medical history questionnaire and echocardiograms (ECGs) were carried out.
