FREE Ruddington Summer Cycling and Walking Event

Villagers of all ages are invited to take part in a free walking and cycling event at Rushcliffe Country Park on Wednesday 14th August. Organisers Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) say this Ruddington event for 2024 will feature a range of fun and insightful activities from 10am to 2pm and include a wellbeing walk led by ‘Rushcliffe Move and Mingle’ at 10.30am. Villagers who stayed up through the early hours of this morning to watch Ruddington ice dancer Penny Coomes and partner Nick Buckland skate their hearts out for Team GB in the finals at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang were rewarded with another wonderful performance at the Gangneung Ice Arena. After sailing through yesterday’s Ice Dance to qualify for today, the duo found themselves up in the Bronze Medal position after their Free Dance routine – choreographed by Nottingham ice skating legend Christopher Dean along to music by rock band Muse. Village residents are once again rooting for Ruddington ice dancer Penny Coomes – as she and skating partner Nick Buckland battle it out against the best – representing Team GB at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang. An ice dancer from Ruddington has secured her place on Team GB at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang after winning an Olympic qualifying competition this weekend! Penny Coomes and figure skating partner Nick Buckland, who hails from Wilford, built on their initial lead in the “Short Dance” section with victory in yesterday’s “Free Dance” at Oberstdorf in Germany – so lifting the Nebelhorn Trophy. You can see their winning routine >>HERE<<.
