A Ruddington businesswoman has just been named as one of the UK’s most inspirational and dynamic female entrepreneurs. Alex Preston (pictured top), who founded The Bottle Top in our village with husband Anthony in May 2019, is being profiled among one hundred ‘f:Entrepreneurs’ from across the country, as part of Small Business Britain‘s ‘#ialso100′ campaign. Country Park Café Construction Commences

Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced that work has finally begun on the refurbishment of its Education & Visitor Centre at Rushcliffe Country Park. The upgrade was first mooted in 2015 – and followed by a public consultation two years’ later. Improvements to the building will include the addition of a permanent café, an enhanced visitors’ centre and a bookable conference room, along with improved landscaping and toilet facilities. Ruddington Nature Pioneer Receives Recognition

The driving force behind a Ruddington nature reserve is among the winners of this year’s ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards’. For 2021 a ‘physical’ ceremony returned – and was held last night (December 8th) at The Rushcliffe Arena. A Ruddington charity which was set up four years’ ago to give a better quality of life to dementia sufferers and their families has been the first to officially receive its cash from the 2020-2021 round of the Co-op Local Community Fund. New Village Festival & Open Gardens Planned

If you’ve lived in Ruddington for a little while, you may remember ‘Open Gardens’ events being organised in our village? In the summers of 2016 and 2018 these were staged in aid of Save the Children and Action for Children and proved a big hit with villagers and visitors alike. Ruddington residents are being reminded to show consideration for others and the environment this weekend – including moving to “lower noise” fireworks for Bonfire Night and other, forthcoming celebrations. Good News for Ruddington Recyclers?

Village residents who need to visit Ruddington’s nearest household waste and recycling centre will no longer have to book beforehand to do so as of next month. Now that wider COVID-19 restrictions having been eased, Nottinghamshire County Council has announced the advance booking system at its West Bridgford facility on Rugby Road will be removed from Monday November 1st.
