Organisers of the weekly parkruns in Rushcliffe Country Park have taken delivery of a crucial piece of life-saving equipment – a defibrillator – which its own community stumped up the necessary funds for within a day! A social media appeal on March 30th raised the £816 required for the new, portable unit in less than half a day. Ruddington’s Junior Parkrun is now back every Sunday morning – for 4 to 14 year-olds only. The 2K run is just for fun so come along, whatever your pace! It’s run on a mixture of trail paths and grass in Rushcliffe Country Park, Mere Way, Ruddington, NG11 6JS. The course is 2000m long and organisers say “some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. “St Peter’s C of E Junior School continues to be a ‘Good’ school.” That’s the verdict of Ofsted Inspector Jayne Ashman – following her visit to Ruddington on 11th & 12th of January 2022. Receiving its first new rating for five years was a slightly tense time for Head Teacher Michael Bradley who only took up his ‘new’ post in January 2020.
