Emergency Roadworks Update

It’s been revealed that two unexpected sets of roadworks which began yesterday on major routes through Ruddington could last all week. Firstly, VIA East Midlands has issued an update about the emergency work on Clifton Road by Cadent Gas which is requiring the use of four-way temporary traffic lights at the roundabout with Pasture Lane/North Road/Clifton Lane and has already been causing delays for drivers – especially at peak times. It began after another gas leak was discovered in the carriageway – the second one along that stretch in just four months.…

Residents’ Concerns Over Second Planning Breach

Villagers living close to the ‘Wilbur Chase’ housing development in Ruddington say they’re very concerned that the property builder could soon be allowed to get away with another serious infringement of its planning conditions for the new estate. Avant Homes (Midlands) is currently constructing 175 new houses on our former Green Belt, south of Musters Road, on what used to be 15.89 acres of farmland. Special School Plans Approved

The wheels are now in motion for a Grade 2 listing building here in Ruddington to begin a new chapter in its history – after planning permission for a ‘special school’ there was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). As RUDDINGTON.info reported in April, an application was submitted by Polaris Children’s Services to turn ‘Easthorpe House’ at 165, Loughborough Road into a school for pupils with special educational needs. Artex to be Fossil-fuel Free On Site by End of 2022

The Artex Ltd site on Pasture Lane in Ruddington will be fossil fuel-free by the end of the year, thanks to the installation of a biomass heating system. The new system will heat their warehouses, offices and hot water to remove diesel and gas and fully decarbonise their site.
