A Ruddington fitness centre has launched a special fundraiser to buy emergency, life-saving equipment for its premises. The staff at Compound Strength and Conditioning are aiming to raise £1000 to install a defibrillator at their gym, as there currently isn’t one located in the Brookside Road area of Ruddington. Tributes to Ruddington Golf Club Owner

The funeral is taking place this week of John Pownall – the man who has owned Ruddington Grange Golf Club for almost a quarter of a century. He died peacefully in hospital on the 2nd of May. He was 84. Our 6,515 yard Par 72 village golf course had only existed for eight years when John bought it from original owner Jack Johnson in 1996. Ruddington Pétanque Piste Opens

Our village has a brand new leisure facility! It’s a dedicated area to play a game of Pétanque, otherwise known as ‘French Boules’, and was officially opened yesterday (Sunday 31st March). It’s one of the ideas which was consulted upon with residents by the Ruddington Village Plan group. Over a two year period the whole village was asked what they’d like to see in Ruddington. Much has happened at 4, Easthorpe Street since Bloomin’ Dementia was launched with some high profile help from Nottingham Forest footballers Chris Cohen and Danny Fox back in November 2017. The Ruddington based charity was formed with the aim of giving a better quality of life to dementia sufferers and their families. Council to “Dispose of” Village Youth Centre

Our former Ruddington Youth and Community Centre has now officially been put up for sale by owners Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). This substantial building on The Green was most recently a fitness centre run by Project Body UK – the organisation selected by the County Council to take over the running of the former Young People’s Centre in 2014 when spending cuts meant that NCC could no longer afford to run it themselves. If you’re aged 18 or over, and can spare a few hours a week or month, Ruddington District Girlguiding needs YOU! Our relatively large village is home to two Rainbow packs, two Brownies packs, one Guide pack and one Rangers section. Recent adventures across the sections include designing a sandwich and packaging, crazy golf and Country Park games. Ruddington Schoolchildren Go That Extra “Daily Mile”

Pupils at a village school have launched their own dedicated daily exercise routine “The Daily Mile” in a bid to beat obesity and improve their health and well-being. New Community Facility to Replace our Village Hall?

A meeting of Ruddington Parish Council has agreed a plan which could involve closing and selling off our Village Hall to help fund the purchase of the former Young People’s Centre on The Green.
