New Specialist Physiotherapists Join Ruddington Clinic

Rushcliffe Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic is pleased to announce that its team is growing once again with the addition of a new Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and a Paediatric Physiotherapist. Beginning in October, Carrie Martin {pictured top left} is joining the Ruddington based clinic to provide specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapy services. She qualified as a Physiotherapist from The University of Nottingham in 2012. Goodbye Ruddington Vets

After 28 years serving Ruddington’s pet owners, it’s been revealed that our much loved veterinary practice is leaving the village. The news was first announced on Ruddington Vets Facebook page last week, in a post which read: “Check out our spacious new site!”. It went on to explain that: “This Autumn, we will be growing our practice.”  To achieve this, they will be moving it around two miles away – to new premises over in Clifton. It’s been revealed that two girls and their parents from our village are the main stars of a new series of adventure books by children’s author Ed Goodwin – the second of which has just been published. 90th Anniversary of Local Park

On 10th September 1932, the Ruddington Parish Council Recreation Ground (Elms Park/ Carter’s Recreation Ground) was officially opened by Samuel Carter. Samuel was born in Ruddington in 1859, in a cottage that apparently stood where the current library is. In 1880, he moved to Guelph, Ontario, Canada, where he was a very successful hosiery manufacturer and Mayor from 1913 to 1914. He died there in 1944. Buckingham Palace has announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon (Thursday 8th September 2022). She was 96. The Queen was the UK’s longest-serving monarch, reigning for 70 years, with extensive celebrations to mark her Platinum Jubilee having taken place in Ruddington just three months’ ago. Another Gas Leak Causes Travel Delays

Drivers in and out of Ruddington are finding themselves stuck in further queues this week due to new roadworks which appeared unexpectedly on Clifton Lane. It’s after a gas escape was detected on the bridge over Fairham Brook on Sunday (4th September). Workers from Cadent have been there since – attempting to trace and repair the leak – with 24-hour temporary traffic lights in use now the road has been dug up. Police Crack Down on Untaxed Cars

Ruddington residents should be aware of a recent flurry of Nottinghamshire Police activity here around vehicles that are either untaxed or holding a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) but still being left on the street. In the last couple of weeks, at least two cars in Ruddington have been seized and towed away after it was discovered their owners were breaking the law.
