Reported Crime Continues to Rise

The latest figures from Rushcliffe Police show there was another increase in incidents recorded by officers in Ruddington last month. Whilst numbers are still relatively low, there were 33% more offences logged for our village in December 2021 than the month before. Perhaps the most concerning involves a 12 year old child reportedly being bitten by “a large grey dog” on Vicarage Park – with police still trying to trace this potentially dangerous animal and its owner. Latest Village Figures Revealed

As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. However, this is still significantly lower than in some previous months, and none of the offences was very serious. More Smashed Windows As Latest Crime Stats Revealed

A relatively quiet month for reported crime in Ruddington ended disappointingly when more windows were smashed in our village centre during Hallowe’en night ‘celebrations’. The damage (above) to Gino’s Ristorante on Sunday October 31st was reported the following day – with owner Guglielmo Frederico ‘Fred’ Formosa giving his CCTV footage of the incident to Police, who are now investigating. Criminals Target Development Sites

It seems the various building sites around Ruddington at the moment are presenting new opportunities for criminals. The latest village crime statistics just released by Rushcliffe Police show that, last month, Linden Homes’ ‘Blacksmith’s Green’ development was targeted again by thieves – who this time managed to get away with thousands of pounds worth of scaffolding from its construction site. Catalytic Converter Thefts in Ruddington

September’s Ruddington Crime statistics, just issued by Rushcliffe Police, show a spike in vehicle crime around our village. This includes two cars – one parked on Wilford Road and another on Church Street – which had their catalytic converters stolen. It seems thieves target these for the precious metals they contain – such as rhodium, palladium, and platinum – making newer vehicles the most vulnerable. Rushcliffe Police are asking people to be especially vigilant at the moment after recent incidents where ATMs were attacked in the early hours of the morning. Cannabis Crop Was July’s Crime Coup

Rushcliffe Police have revealed they seized 147 cannabis plants of different sizes and stages of cultivation during their early morning raid on a house in Asher Lane last month. It was after receiving tip-offs from the local community around suspicious, drugs related activity at the Ruddington address. The automated hoax message informs you that there has been an attempted transaction of £600 on your bank card.
