Whilst the deadline for parents of village youngsters to apply for their Secondary School places outside Ruddington in 2023/2024 has now passed, the process for Infant and Primary children hoping they’ll be schooled here is only just beginning. Neighbourhood Officers from Nottinghamshire Police have been in Ruddington again this afternoon carrying out speed checks on traffic entering our village along Wilford Road. Despite the 30mph limit now starting sooner, due to the new Bloor Homes development, with even a flashing sign to alert motorists to their speed as they pass Sellors’ Playing Field, they report that three vehicles were recorded still doing in excess of 35 mph along the main, built-up stretch. Nottinghamshire Police have revealed a new Constable dedicated to our village. PC Stephen Piper has joined PCSO Philip Evans to focus on neighbourhood policing in Ruddington. Launch of ‘The Ruddington Pantry’

This month sees the start of a brand new local initiative which it’s hoped will reduce food waste in our village. On Wednesday 6th April Carol Jaggers and Gwen Eyre are opening a ‘community fridge’ in St Peter’s Rooms called ‘The Ruddington Pantry’. ‘Offer Day’ Relief For Our Junior School Pupils

Children in their final year at St Peter’s in Ruddington are celebrating this week after it was confirmed they will be able to stay with their friends in September. Tuesday was ‘National Offer Day’ – when the parents and guardians of all current Year 6 pupils attending our village junior school were informed whether or not they had been successful in getting their son or daughter a place at their chosen secondary school.
