Excitement is mounting amongst younger children from our village (and beyond) that Rushcliffe Junior Parkrun will be back from Sunday April 11th at 9.00am! The usually weekly event in Ruddington’s Country Park has been cancelled for just over a year due to the Coronavirus pandemic – which, of course, led to Government restrictions on large gatherings. Today’s Government announcement that Nottinghamshire, like most of the East Midlands, will move into England’s highest level of current Coronavirus restrictions from New Year’s Eve means that Ruddington will almost be back in ‘Lockdown’ for a third time. WALK #4 – Ruddington to Bradmore – and back

This is the fourth walk in the series – and we have already headed south, north and west – so this stroll takes in countryside to the east of Ruddington, around the pretty village of Bradmore. It was on Guy Fawkes’ Night almost six years’ ago that an imaginative addition to Ruddington kids’ social scene first lit up children’s faces in our village. School Cycling Route Plans in Jeopardy

Campaigners fear their hopes for a designated cycleway from Ruddington to Rushcliffe School may have been dashed by the failure of the County Council to secure over £300,000 of cash earmarked for such schemes. Country Park Partial Reopening

As Government ‘lockdown’ restrictions are eased a little, Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced the reopening of some car parks at its open spaces, tennis courts and skate parks. These include a limited number of facilities at Ruddington’s Country Park – which were closed in March due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
