It’s been confirmed that the fifth stage of the ‘Tour of Britain’ will be passing right through Ruddington this summer. The elite cycle race will again come via the centre of our village on Thursday 8th September 2022 – four years to the day since the last time. Excitement is mounting as Ruddington’s most famous park runner continues to progress in a top-rated, national, television contest. Stef Reid MBE, a track and field paralympian who competes for Team GB, has become one of the big stars of the fourteenth series of ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’. Boxing Day Action at Elms Park

A charity soccer match – which traditionally takes place in Ruddington every Boxing Day – returns this year. After being cancelled by COVID-19 last Christmas, spectators are warmly welcomed back to Elms Park on December 26th 2021 at 11am for what promises to be a feast of family fun and football. The game is being run by Ruddington Village Colts Football Club – which is benefittng from the proceeds this year. Bloomin’ Marvellous!

A Ruddington charity which was set up four years’ ago to give a better quality of life to dementia sufferers and their families has been the first to officially receive its cash from the 2020-2021 round of the Co-op Local Community Fund.  Local shoppers raised a total £5232.13 for Bloomin’ Dementia, based on Easthorpe Street, and representatives were presented with their cheque at the Church Street Food Store yesterday (November 25th). New Village Festival & Open Gardens Planned

If you’ve lived in Ruddington for a little while, you may remember ‘Open Gardens’ events being organised in our village? In the summers of 2016 and 2018 these were staged in aid of Save the Children and Action for Children and proved a big hit with villagers and visitors alike. Ruddington Runner’s Marathon Fundraiser

A man from our village is running this weekend’s London Marathon in aid of a cause close to his heart – The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Ruddington resident Chris Cooke will be heading down to the capital to join thousands of other runners this Sunday (October 3rd) trying to complete the 26.2 mile course to raise money for their chosen charities. RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches.…
