A Ruddington pub boss says he was ‘shocked’ that Parish Councillors did not wish to renew a popular, long-running scheme to provide much needed extra parking in our village centre. To address the increasing difficulty in finding a space, an agreement was reached back in 2014 between Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) and The White Horse Inn that the left hand side of their car park could be used by village shoppers from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. It’s been confirmed a Ruddington community venture which started over the summer, offering a chef-prepared, two-course lunch for just £1, will continue into next year – and also increase the number of diners it can accommodate. The twice monthly ‘Heat ‘n’ Eat’ meals, comprising good quality and wholesome, hot food, began at the end of June 2022. The retail area of one of Ruddington’s top tourist attractions has been transformed this week thanks to a significant cash boost. We reported in October how £8,335 had been awarded towards The Framework Knitter’s Museum‘s ‘Shop Improvement Project’ through the Museum Development East Midlands (MDEM)’s Recovery and Reboot Grants. This also included core funding and a donation from ‘The Friends of the Ruddington Framework Knitters’ Museum’.
