Pub Planning Application Pulled

Plans submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) to substantially enlarge an historic Ruddington public house have been withdrawn. As reported last month, the owners of The Frame Breakers at the corner of High Street and Kirk Lane had applied for planning permission to build a three storey side extension, with two storey side and rear extension, to the existing building, as shown above. Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced yet another departure from the norm for their festive offering this year; they’re planning to run it over THREE days! Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) has revealed the 2023 dates and times will be Thursday 30th November 4pm – 9pm, Friday 1st December 4pm – 9pm and Saturday 2nd December 11am – 5pm. It’s now twelve months since Ruddington’s The Split Screen Coffee Company began operating the café based within Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum (FKM) – and its owners are pleased to report their business is going from strength to strength. Framework Knitters Ready for the Summer!

Volunteers and staff at Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum are once again showing visitors the delights of their unique heritage site, following the completion of refurbishment work there costing £62,295. The funds for the work were awarded through the Arts Council of England’s Museum Estate and Development Fund (MEND). Visitors to Rushcliffe Country Park can now enjoy an extra place to take refuge from the rain – or the sun! – thanks to a brand new natural wood shelter constructed near the Visitor Centre. A major programme of works has been announced, taking place throughout this summer, to maintain and repair the network of pathways which criss-cross Rushcliffe Country Park. The popular Ruddington leisure facility welcomes hundreds of thousands of people each year – from our village and further afield. Ruddington was alive with the sound of music yesterday – as around 170 voices demonstrated the joy of singing at various venues around our village.
