Amazing Reglazing at St Peter’s

A little bit of Ruddington’s history has now been reinstated thanks to some painstaking restoration work for our Parish Church. RUDDINGTON.info reported last summer how some of the stained glass windows at St Peter’s had been targeted by vandals – leading to the closure of the churchyard at night. Ruddington village centre shoppers will have slightly less choice from this weekend when our Sainsbury’s Local closes its doors permanently – after just over a decade on Dutton’s Hill. Volunteers at Great Central Railway Nottingham (GCRN) now have some more unexpected and unwelcome work to do after trespassers at the Ruddington site decided to spray graffiti onto one of the 125 Group‘s recently restored MK3 coaches. The Heritage Centre is already facing great financial challenges thanks to the Coronavirus – having been unable to run any passenger services from there since the February half-term last year. Skating Into the Future

Construction work is now underway on a brand new ‘plaza’ style skatepark in Ruddington – which should be ready for use by this spring. Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is building a replacement concrete facility at Rushcliffe Country Park which has been designed by Canvas (top image) in close collaboration with the young people from our village and elsewhere who will use it. It’s hoped the contemporary skatepark will meet the needs of future Olympic skateboarders and BMXers from Ruddington and the surrounding areas.
