Hundreds Attend Skate Park’s Official Opening

This weekend’s official opening of Ruddington’s new skate park has been hailed a great success by organisers – after people of all ages and abilities flocked to the special sessions arranged for its launch at Rushcliffe Country Park yesterday (Saturday 14th August). Skate boarders, scooter riders and BMXers are celebrating the opening of Ruddington’s new skate park – funded by Rushcliffe Borough Council and supported by Skate Nottingham, Canvas Spaces and VIA East Midlands. The £210,000 concrete structure at Rushcliffe Country Park has been praised as another landmark facility – not just for our village but for the whole of Nottinghamshire. Skating Into the Future

Construction work is now underway on a brand new ‘plaza’ style skatepark in Ruddington – which should be ready for use by this spring. Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is building a replacement concrete facility at Rushcliffe Country Park which has been designed by Canvas (top image) in close collaboration with the young people from our village and elsewhere who will use it. It’s been announced a new skatepark will be built at Rushcliffe Country Park by next spring – to replace the current wooden structure there which is now reaching the end of its useful life.
