Ruddington residents who’ve previously commented or objected to the outline planning application for 175 new houses down Asher Lane have received an unexpected extra letter from Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Even though permission has already been granted for this Green Belt development following a controversial intervention by the Government Planning Inspectorate last May – landowner Space Foods Limited is now pushing for the access to be allowed via Musters Road rather than the (approved) Asher Lane one. You can read all the background to this latest appeal >>HERE<<. Even though it was…

Landowner Appeals for Musters Road Access
A Ruddington Green Belt site already given outline planning approval for 175 new homes is now the subject of a second appeal by the landowner – this time over the decision by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) to refuse it an alternative access route. The last time Space Foods Ltd appealed to the Government’s Planning Inspectorate – when RBC rejected plans for 175 homes on this land off Asher Lane – its appeal was successful! This was to the dismay of local residents, Ruddington Action Group (RAG) and Ruddington Parish Council – who’d fought long and hard to prevent a…

William Davis Homes is the latest property developer to show its hand in Ruddington by publishing proposals for around 180 new homes it wants to build on “land off Mere Way”. This is one of the Green Belt sites earmarked in Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Local Plan Part 2 – outlined in red above – which was formerly known as RUD13. RBC’s plan suggests 170 houses to fulfil its quota on this land – slightly less than these new proposals are showing. Leaflets, containing a ‘freepost’ comments form, have been dropping through…

December 4th 2018 could go down as the historic date which determined exactly how many hectares of our village Green Belt would be sacrificed for housing development over the following decade. After many years of consultation and confrontation, it’s the meeting that will determine whether the three Ruddington sites earmarked for new homes under Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Local Plan Part 2 {shown in BLUE above} are rubber-stamped – or otherwise – by the Government’s Planning Inspectorate. You can read the background to this long running saga elsewhere on the RUDDINGTON.info website –…

Read MoreRevised Access Plans for Asher Lane Rejected
In May we reported how Space Foods Ltd had successfully appealed to the Planning Inspectorate to allow it outline planning permission for 175 new homes on Green Belt land it owns south of Musters Road. This shock decision was despite massive opposition to the development from residents, Ruddington Parish Council – and Rushcliffe Borough Council’s refusal of the plans. Although originally considered as part of its Local Plan Part 2 (RUD07) three other village Green Belt sites were chosen in preference. The outline plans that were given the green light on appeal show access to the new housing development…

Ruddington Parish Council is again looking for community-minded villagers to come forward to fill two vacancies – after a couple of its newer councillors stepped down. Empty seats have been left in Camelot Ward and Manor Ward – following the resignations of Yvonne Lishman and Sarah Godfrey respectively. Their departures follow a relatively stable period for the Council after a raft of resignations during 2016 and 2017. Yvonne had been a Parish Councillor since June last year but Sarah only for the past six months. Both have stated they are quitting due to work…

The Ruddington Green Belt sites earmarked by RBC for housing development were decided upon after years of consultations with residents, businesses and other organisations involving both the Borough Council and Ruddington Parish Council. The end result was a proposed allocation of 350 new homes over…
