New statistics just published by Nottinghamshire Police indicate the number of reported incidents of ‘antisocial behaviour’ in our village shot up by 132 per cent during the Coronavirus pandemic. Figures from the past twelve months of COVID-19 restrictions and ‘lockdowns’ show Ruddington’s increase was second only to the Ashfield District of Nottinghamshire – leading to alarmist stories in some local news media. Prolific Shoplifter Jailed

A 31-year-old man, who originally received a deferred sentence for a shoplifting spree in Ruddington and Clifton last September, is now behind bars after committing further offences over Christmas. Following his original sentence, Aaron Kelly (pictured above), of no fixed address, was re-arrested on December 29th and re-sentenced the next day at Nottingham Crown Court after being found responsible for numerous, further shop thefts. Altogether he committed 41 crimes including stealing gift sets, food and makeup – as well as smashing goods inside a shop. Mr Kelly must now spend six months in jail.…

Man Arrested Following Flawforth Lane Car Thefts

Detectives investigating a report of two cars being stolen following a burglary in Ruddington have arrested a man as part of their enquiries. Officers were called to a property along Flawforth Lane on Monday 7th September after it was reported that car keys had been stolen in a house burglary and the cars then taken from the drive. Rushcliffe Police say Saturday’s easing of ‘lockdown’ restrictions – meaning Ruddington’s numerous pubs and other hospitality venues could reopen their premises – did not create any major issues for its officers. Early Morning Blaze Hits Almost Two Thousand Homes

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington during the early hours of this morning when an electricity sub-station on Old Station Drive caught fire – initially cutting power to 1,961 houses in our village. The automated hoax message informs you that there has been an attempted transaction of £600 on your bank card. Arrest in Connection with Ruddington Burglary and Car Thefts

Nottinghamshire Police report they have today arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a series of car key burglaries and vehicle thefts. The incidents include a Ford CMax which was stolen in a burglary at a house on Packman Drive here in Ruddington at around 5.30am on Saturday 27th April. A jewellery shop in the centre of Ruddington has once again fallen victim to crime overnight. Rushcliffe Police have reported a burglary at David Richards Jewellers on Church Street in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 13th January). May Day Mercedes Theft on Musters Road

Another Ruddington property was targeted by criminals early this morning – with the householders’ executive car taken during the raid. The burglary happened on Musters Road at around 5am today (Tuesday 1st May), just before sunrise. Rushcliffe Police report that a grey Mercedes E350 Hybrid vehicle was stolen with keys taken from the property. Officers returned to the scene later this morning to carry out fingerprinting.
