Volunteers at Great Central Railway Nottingham (GCRN) now have some more unexpected and unwelcome work to do after trespassers at the Ruddington site decided to spray graffiti onto one of the 125 Group‘s recently restored MK3 coaches. The Heritage Centre is already facing great financial challenges thanks to the Coronavirus – having been unable to run any passenger services from there since the February half-term last year. An appeal has been launched by a member of a famous Ruddington family for an item of great sentimental value which was accidentally given to a village charity shop. Musician Guy Phethean is on the hunt for a ‘Mah Jong’ set, belonging to his mother Kathy, donated to the Nottinghamshire Hospice Shop in Ruddington in the autumn of 2018. A community spirited Ruddington computer repairer has come to the aid of cash-strapped local parents whose children need access to a laptop for their studies during ‘lockdown’. Concerns for Missing Ruddington Man – FOUND*

Police say they’re concerned for the safety of 25 year-old Macauley Diuk, who went missing from the Ruddington area around 1.30am today, Monday 26th October*. Officers describe Macauley (pictured above) as of a stocky build and is around 5ft 7ins tall, with short dark brown hair. It’s not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance. Hospice Shop Reopens

A popular Ruddington charity shop is finally back in business again – over sixth months after having to close its doors due to the Spring Coronavirus ‘lockdown’. Bosses from Nottinghamshire Hospice decided to use this window of opportunity to carry out an impromptu ‘refurbishment’ to our village outlet, since drain work was also required on the premises. Man Arrested Following Flawforth Lane Car Thefts

Detectives investigating a report of two cars being stolen following a burglary in Ruddington have arrested a man as part of their enquiries. Officers were called to a property along Flawforth Lane on Monday 7th September after it was reported that car keys had been stolen in a house burglary and the cars then taken from the drive. Patrons enjoying a pleasant Saturday night out at a Ruddington pub found themselves surrounded by police and emergency services! Officers sped to The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street at around 9.20pm, and cordoned off the road, after a glass bottle was believed to have been thrown at a man in a fight – which left him nursing a neck wound. Police say whoever is responsible for puncturing the car tyres of a Ruddington critical care nurse last month – leaving her both with a problem getting to work and a £320 bill to replace them – is still to be identified.
