Another 180 Homes Approved on Ruddington Green Belt

Outline planning permission for William Davis Homes to build a major new housing estate on ‘Land East Of Loughborough Road’ in Ruddington was given the ‘green light’ by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) planners last night. This site, off the Mere Way Roundabout, is one of the four Green Belt development areas surrounding our village earmarked in RBC’s Local Plan Part 2 (originally known as RUD13 now as Policy 6.3). Motorists who leave their cars down Asher Lane whilst visiting Rushcliffe Country Park are being warned about a spate of recent vehicle break-ins there. There’s an October update below*. Avant Homes’ Asher Lane Plans

It seems that Space Foods Limited has now found a property developer willing to take on the building of an approved major new Ruddington housing estate on its land north of Asher Lane. This Green Belt site was the subject of a long battle by village residents, Ruddington Action Group and Ruddington Parish Council to prevent housing development. Green 10 Timetable Changes

Passengers who catch Nottingham City Transport’s Green 10/10C/10X service to and from Ruddington should note there will be some revisions to its timetable starting on Sunday September 1st. Our main bus operator is advising villagers, commuters and visitors that buses between Ruddington and Greythorn Drive Top towards the City are being retimed to run slightly earlier. Nottinghamshire Police are warning to be on the look for thieves at Rushcliffe Country Park. It’s after a reported theft from a vehicle there this morning.
