Ruddington’s Newest Residents

Our village is now home to families from the travelling community – after they gained access to Sellors Playing Field and moved their caravans and vehicles onto the recreation ground yesterday (Thursday) teatime. It seems the unexpected visitors managed to lift the locked metal access gate off Wilford Road from its hinges at one side and haul it open to enable them to get in and set up their encampment. It happened just as members of Impact Fitness were setting up for their evening “bootcamp” there. Having first been driven around, one…

“Le Jumelage”

Football will be the focus of this week’s visit by another young group from our “twin town” of Grenay. Although a town, its last recorded population of 6,899 in 2013 is actually slightly less than ours. The visitors will be here for four days from this Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th May, when…

However Dan Clifford {“Falcon”}, a leader at the Beaver Scout colony, says: “Our Scout Hut roof is over 30 years old and can no longer be patched up.
