Twin Town Teams’ Football and Fun!

Ruddington has entertained two young teams from A.G. Grenay, the football club from our French Twin town, Grenay, in north eastern France. Football will be the focus of this week’s visit by another young group from our “twin town” of Grenay. Although the “Twinning” activities (“Le Jumelage” in French) lapsed for several years, there’s recently been a drive to re-establish links and arrange new exchange trips between Ruddington and Grenay – which lies in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. Over the NEXT Bank Holiday weekend, Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum is hosting a three day Summer Exhibition and Sale of Artwork and Textiles, and they’d love to hear from you. Traders’ Task Force Takes Shape

Businesses in Ruddington have begun exploring innovative new ways they might work together in order to attract more residents and visitors to use our village centre. On April 12th an extraordinary Ruddington Parish Council meeting was called in the wake of worries about the closure of Thomas’s Greengrocers – the latest of several long established independent traders here who’ve gone out of business or decided to shut up shop. Now a form of “Village Centre Partnership” is being proposed after dozens of concerned locals put their names forward offering to help.…

As always, there’s a lot going on in Ruddington for the youngsters during the Easter Holidays! The fun starts on Good Friday (30th March) when the Framework Knitters’ Museum will be holding their annual Easter Bunny Hunt from 11 am to 4pm.
