Ruddington Pétanque Piste Opens

Our village has a brand new leisure facility! It’s a dedicated area to play a game of Pétanque, otherwise known as ‘French Boules’, and was officially opened yesterday (Sunday 31st March). It’s one of the ideas which was consulted upon with residents by the Ruddington Village Plan group. Over a two year period the whole village was asked what they’d like to see in Ruddington. Controversial Residents Only Parking Approved

Plans to make most of two Ruddington village centre streets ‘Parking By Permit Holders Only’ during daytime hours have been approved by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). The contentious scheme for Charles Street and Parkyns Street, which RUDDINGTON.info originally reported on last October, was rubber-stamped today (7th March 2019) by NCC’s ‘Communities and Place Committee’ despite 34 objections – including from Ruddington Parish Council. It’s been announced that Ruddington’s trendiest drinking venue is to cease trading this weekend. Apotheka on Dutton’s Hill will shut its doors for the final time on Saturday (9th March) despite only opening after a major refurbishment of the premises just over a year ago. After around two thousand people flocked to the inaugural Ruddington Village Market at The White Horse Inn a month ago, organisers are keeping their fingers crossed that this Saturday’s follow-up will be just as popular. ‘Ruddington Rhythm’ Launches!

Our village’s regular, acoustic music night now has a new name. The monthly gathering at The Cottage Hotel will be known as ‘Ruddington Rhythm’ in the future – rather than ‘Ruddington Folk & Blues’. A Ruddington businesswoman is thanking villagers who rallied around to help – after a window at her premises was smashed over the weekend.
