Controversial Residents Only Parking Approved

Plans to make most of two Ruddington village centre streets ‘Parking By Permit Holders Only’ during daytime hours have been approved by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). The contentious scheme for Charles Street and Parkyns Street, which RUDDINGTON.info originally reported on last October, was rubber-stamped today (7th March 2019) by NCC’s ‘Communities and Place Committee’ despite 34 objections – including from Ruddington Parish Council. New Double Yellow Lines for Business Park

Parking will be prohibited along at least one side of the road right around Ruddington’s Business Park if plans by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) get the go-ahead. When a maximum two hour waiting limit was introduced in more areas a few years ago it just seemed to move the problem on to the unrestricted streets – causing even more misery for residents trying to park near their homes. A survey by Ruddington Parish…

No Village Centre Car Park Charges…. Yet!

Ruddington residents, traders and visitors WON’T have to pay to use the Church Street Car Park. That was the decision reached unanimously by Councillors at a full meeting of Ruddington Parish Council last night (Tuesday 30th January). However that is not going to be the END of the story… Currently the only car parking charges in Ruddington are at our Country Park where new pay & display machines (right) with a nominal £1 fee were introduced by Rushcliffe Borough Council in their visitor car park last summer. With our increasing village…
