New Ruddington Roundabouts on the Way!

National Highways has revealed that the final part of a major upgrade to the A52 around Nottingham has now moved a step closer – with work to enlarge and redesign the two main roundabouts taking traffic in and out of Ruddington scheduled to begin next summer. The agency has announced it’s appointed Griffiths Farrans Joint Venture (GFJV) as the main contractor to deliver the project. Plans to make most of two Ruddington village centre streets ‘Parking By Permit Holders Only’ during daytime hours have been approved by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC). The contentious scheme for Charles Street and Parkyns Street, which RUDDINGTON.info originally reported on last October, was rubber-stamped today (7th March 2019) by NCC’s ‘Communities and Place Committee’ despite 34 objections – including from Ruddington Parish Council. Parking will be prohibited along at least one side of the road right around Ruddington’s Business Park if plans by Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) get the go-ahead. Ruddington residents, traders and visitors WON’T have to pay to use the Church Street Car Park.
