A  26 year-old businesswoman from our village is celebrating receiving £3000 worth of extra funding following a “Dragon’s Den” style event organised by Nottinghamshire Community Foundation. Olivia Swift’s successful pitch at the Nottingham Trent University Business School secured the cash from The Nottingham Building Society to help the Ruddington entrepreneur grow her business. A charity is aiming to raise £100,000 to build a new diesel maintenance depot to house the prototype High Speed Train Power Car 41001 and six Mk3 coaches. A climate change expert from Ruddington says he’s “unexpectedly chuffed” to be included on this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List – which recognises the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom. Gino’s Cooking Oil Crook Convicted

A man arrested on suspicion of stealing cooking oil from Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Ruddington just before Christmas has been convicted at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on two charges of theft. Rushcliffe Police released a CCTV image (right) of the person they believed to be responsible after one of the incidents at the rear of the Church Street premises at 5.05am on Thursday 27th December 2017. The man found guilty of the used oil thefts is 52 year-old Errol Kus from Grantham. Mr Kus was given a conditional discharge of six months for both offences.…
