New Year, Longer Market!

As Ruddington Village Market prepares to celebrate its fourth birthday, the team behind it has revealed visitors will have even more time to browse the many stalls in 2023. From February 4th onwards, our monthly market on The Green will open from 9.00am all the way through to 2.00pm – an hour and a half longer than previously. It’s envisaged there will still be around seventy independent stalls on the first Saturday of each month, comprising businesses from the village plus many visiting traders. Ho, ho, ho! This month’s village market will be a major, festive family event – with over 100 indoor and outdoor stalls of gifts, food and drink. There’ll be children’s activities, also two covered pop-up bars and stages of live music. ‘The Comedy of Errors’

Where’s Ruddington’s Royal Oak Gone!?

So many concerned villagers have been contacting RUDDINGTON.info over the past fortnight, asking this question, we thought we’d better publish a quick update for you. As previously reported, Ruddington’s new ‘Royal Oak’ tree was kindly donated by villager Barbara Breakwell for Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) to plant on The Green during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend. Plans to erect a contemporary, new home in Ruddington’s conservation area, right alongside The Green, have been rejected by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). The application [22/00485/FUL] by Building Design (Nottm) Ltd would have seen the demolition of the garage belonging to 6, The Green (‘The White House’) to make way for a modern two storey house (plus attic room) to be built ‘next door’ over the current garden – filling the “gap” seen in the photograph above.
