September Village Market

Our popular monthly market promises a super shopping experience with a great variety of stallholders on The Green and a chance to visit our local shops and retailers, too.

This month’s Ruddington Village Market on Saturday 3rd September is scheduled to have 77 traders on The Green from 9.00am until 12.30pm.

The full list of this month’s visiting retailers – with their corresponding stall numbers on the map – is shown below.

The monthly market is a project of the award winning Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP).  The market has grown in many ways: initiatives include a Young Entrepreneurs’ Programme (to mentor 16 to 30 year olds into market stall businesses) a partnership with the Trent Bridge Trust’s YouNG Project (to offer under 16s the chance to trade), an electrical repair service in tandem with Illumination Repairs CIC, and locals can ask about the village by visiting Ruddington Parish Council‘s tent. Councillors welcome your ideas or concerns for the local area, and can tell you more about what’s coming up in Ruddington. Gwen Eyre will also be at their stall this month with information about The Ruddington Pantry.

Organisers say: “This month we are welcoming a new fabric stall to the market. Beautiful Fabrics For You will be with us with some great deals of fabrics. We have had people asking for a fabric stall, so we’re delighted to be bringing the people what they want! We also have Holay Molay Tacos coming. Run by Joe Swatland, chef of 15 years, he’s bringing tacos to Ruddington and Saturday will be their first event since launching. They’re based in the village and source produce locally. They have a great looking menu including a super limited gold wrapped lobster tail taco special.

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Health and Wellbeing Hub, in partnership with the NHS, will have advice “on how to stay healthy and make your money go further in these increasingly difficult times.

This month RVCP’s ‘Charity of the Month’ at Stall 52 is Friends of James Peacock – it’s the fundraising body of Ruddington’s Infant and Nursery school – whilst ‘Live’ music comes from The Cellotapes.

The White Horse on Church Street – the Village Market’s original venue – is also staging its usual smaller market on the same date – running from 9.00am to 11.30am.

There is some extra parking available, as shown below. However, market days are very busy in Ruddington, so residents are encouraged to walk into the village if they can, since spaces are rather limited in the centre.

For visitors, there’s a new NCT discounted Market Day travel ticket if you come to Ruddington by bus. Village Market organisers say: “We’re super excited to be partnering with Nottingham City Transport to offer 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market DaysAll people need to do is scroll down to the NCT Partners category in the Mobile Tickets section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’re good to go!

Have a #RuddyGoodDayOut!
