Further Cycle Racks for Ruddington

Parking provision for those who visit our village centre by bicycle is set to be improved further by the addition of three more pairs of cycle racks on High Street and Church Street. It follows Ruddington Parish Council‘s installation of two pairs of cycle racks on The Green in January as part of the Ruddington Village Centre Partnership ‘Traders’ Village Improvement Plan’. ‘Offer Day’ Relief For Our Junior School Pupils

Children in their final year at St Peter’s in Ruddington are celebrating this week after it was confirmed they will be able to stay with their friends in September. Tuesday was ‘National Offer Day’ – when the parents and guardians of all current Year 6 pupils attending our village junior school were informed whether or not they had been successful in getting their son or daughter a place at their chosen secondary school. New Parking Restrictions Start Soon

Residents and visitors wishing to park in the Easthorpe Street area of Ruddington will soon have fewer options – due to new parking prohibitions being introduced along a residential side road. Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) has revealed its work to paint new double yellow lines all along the eastern side and top turning circle of Cumberland Close is scheduled to take place from March 7th to 9th. A Cumberland Close Compromise?

New proposals to resolve access issues for residents in a Ruddington cul-de-sac, whilst still enabling some parking there for those who need it, have been put out for consultation. As RUDDINGTON.info reported in August, after numerous complaints about inconsiderate parking and damage to vehicles, there was a previous consultation by Via East Midlands (on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council) which proposed prohibiting all parking on Cumberland Close between 9am and 5pm every day. Free School Holiday Meals to Continue

Ruddington’s schools are welcoming the announcement by Nottinghamshire County Council that it will continue to fund Free School Meals for the October half-term and over two weeks at Christmas. This means that village schoolchildren will be among more than 25,000 across the county who will receive 250,000 meals during the October break. Residents and businesses in and around Cumberland Close will have to wait and see what’s decided by the authorities – now that their views on how to solve the local parking problem have been submitted. New Community Centre Designs Unveiled

It’s being reported there’s been an overwhelmingly positive response so far to plans by Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) for its proposed community facilities behind The Green. Its decision to demolish the existing building and build a brand new community centre for our village followed an online survey the Council carried out late last year.
