Ruddington’s June Roadworks
As previously reported, Ruddington’s motorists are already facing longer and longer delays at the Loughborough Road/Kirk Lane/Flawforth Lane traffic lights caused by increased traffic volumes unmitigated by delayed junction improvement work there. Now we’re also being warned about additional hold-ups and disruption this summer due to roadworks scheduled along Loughborough Road and elsewhere in our village – even before this long overdue junction work finally begins. In June 2023 alone, there’s a week of water pipe renewals on the A60, five days of gas work by The Green and a weekend of…

Motorists who travel to and from Ruddington via Clifton have found themselves delayed again today (Monday 6th March 2023) – after Severn Trent were called in to fix a leaking water valve on Clifton Road near the junction with Old Station Drive. Drivers are advised these two-way temporary traffic lights are likely to remain in place until this Wednesday 8th – by which time it’s hoped the necessary repair or replacement will be completed. It comes shortly after a gas leak outside Hilltop Cottage on Clifton Lane which also saw 24-hour two-way temporary traffic…

Motorists who usually use Packman Drive to get in and out of Ruddington are being advised to use an alternative route for the next few days. From Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th February a new water connection by Severn Trent will mean 24-hour three-way traffic signals in use on Packman Drive at its junction with Ling Crescent. A gas leak outside Hilltop Cottage on Clifton Lane means 24-hour two-way temporary traffic lights are also in use there – and will remain in place until repairs are completed. Due to difficulties encountered by Cadent Gas, the estimated end…

Read MoreVillage Market Cancelled Until Easter
Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced that the popular event will be put on hold until April 3rd – Easter Saturday. The difficult decision by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) has been made on COVID-19 safety grounds following the recent surge in cases of the new variant Coronavirus which has recently led to a third national ‘lockdown’. After being cancelled last November (during the previous ‘lockdown’) the market did take place again in December under Nottinghamshire’s Tier 3 restrictions. There is no January market, so the ones called off are…
