Ruddington’s main transport operator has announced the welcome news that the New Year will begin with significantly cheaper travel aboard our village buses. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Navy 3 and Green 10 bus passengers will benefit from a 20% cut in its single fares throughout January, February and March 2023 thanks to the government funded ‘Help for Households’ initiative. Ruddington Bus Services Axed

Two circular bus routes through our village, which provide Ruddington’s only direct connection with Morrisons at Gamston, Wheatcroft Garden Centre, the Central Avenue Shops in West Bridgford and NTU’s Clifton campus, are being withdrawn permanently next month. CT4N’s Services 22 and 23 have been under threat before, because of Nottingham City Council (NCC) spending cuts three and a half years’ ago, when they were still free buses run by ‘Nottingham Community Transport’. Ruddington Bus Fares Rising this Weekend

Our main village bus operator has announced today that it’s putting up all fares from this Sunday in response to what it calls “significantly increased operating costs”. Nottingham City Transport (NCT), which runs our Navy 3 and Green 10 services, is blaming fuel and staffing costs being much higher than at the start of the year. It says diesel is costing them up to 50% more with the ‘BioGas’ price almost doubled. Emergency Roadworks Update

It’s been revealed that two unexpected sets of roadworks which began yesterday on major routes through Ruddington could last all week. Firstly, VIA East Midlands has issued an update about the emergency work on Clifton Road by Cadent Gas which is requiring the use of four-way temporary traffic lights at the roundabout with Pasture Lane/North Road/Clifton Lane and has already been causing delays for drivers – especially at peak times. Unfortunately there are several sets of highway works liable to cause inconvenience and delays for Ruddington motorists during July. These include the total closure of Dutton’s Hill again over the next two Sundays for more gas work. Water Leak Disrupts High Street

Ruddington drivers, traders and shoppers are being warned they may face unexpected disruption in our village centre – following a burst water main today. ‘No Parking’ restrictions and four-way temporary traffic signals have been put in place at the junction of Church Street and Easthorpe Street whilst Severn Trent Water identifies and repairs the leak.
