Ruddington Co-op Reveals Latest ‘Good Causes’

The three beneficiaries of this year’s ‘Local Community Fund’ – courtesy of shoppers at the Ruddington Co-op – have been announced. This time two of the organisations are based in our village and the third over in Clifton. £8k Funding for Improved Museum Shop

Staff and volunteers at Ruddington’s historic Framework Knitters’ Museum are celebrating the award of new cash to upgrade their newly established café and shop. ‘Parker’s Yard’ was added late last year when the museum site expanded into the former ‘Gun Cottage’ – between the original workers’ cottages and frameshops and the old Knitters’ Chapel. This allowed a brand new visitor entrance, hospitality and retail area – including a separate new garden. Organisers of the first ever ‘RUDD Awards’ have just announced the 18 finalists – individuals, businesses and community groups from the village who’ve been shortlisted from over 300 nominations. The inaugural ‘RUDD Awards’ were launched in July 2022 by RVCP, Ruddington Village Community Partnership, to celebrate locals who’re making a difference to life in Ruddington, as well as contributing to a thriving ‘community hub and prosperous high street’. The fifth stage of The ‘Tour of Britain’ national cycling race is now just days away, with cycling fans, residents and businesses preparing to see this sporting spectacle as it returns to Ruddington on Thursday 8th September.
