Incinerator Plans Approved

In August last year, RUDDINGTON.info reported on a village-led campaign to “Stop the Incinerator” which was being proposed for the site of the soon-to-be decommissioned Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. It followed an application submitted to Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) in July 2020 by Uniper UK Limited for the development of ‘The East Midlands Energy Re-Generation’ (EMERGE) Centre – which it described as a ‘multifuel energy recovery facility – to recover energy from waste material’. This proposal meant environmental campaigners’ initial joy – that a coal fired power plant now so little used by The National Grid was to be…

More Housing on Former Ruddington Green Belt?

Another 32 new homes could be built on former Green Belt land in Ruddington if planning permission is granted to construct them in the grounds of an existing village property. Rather than selling The Croft at 211, Loughborough Road as a large, family home, Lincolnshire based Pygott & Crone Holdings Limited is instead advertising it for the owner as “…8.5 acres of prime residential development (stp), alongside an existing residential dwelling.” It suggests that the current property could be converted into three town houses – for a developer to sell individually – and…

The proposal by Uniper UK Limited is for the development of ‘The East Midlands…

A full planning application to build 174 new homes on agricultural land west of Wilford Road in Ruddington has now been submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Application For Another 180 Houses Submitted

Following its ‘public consultation’ in January, William Davis Homes has now put in for outline planning permission to build 180 houses on ‘Land East Of Loughborough Road’ in Ruddington. This site, off the Mere Way Roundabout, is one of the Green Belt development areas earmarked in Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Local Plan Part 2 which was formerly known as RUD13. RBC’s plan allocates 170 new homes to fulfil its quota on this land, which is ten less than these proposals are suggesting. Some may also think the William Davis application is a little premature – since the…
