Breakers’ Boss Bows Out

One of the best known characters in Ruddington’s retail community has left his post – after more than seven years as Operations Manager for a Nottinghamshire brewer. Good News for Ruddington Recyclers?

Village residents who need to visit Ruddington’s nearest household waste and recycling centre will no longer have to book beforehand to do so as of next month. Now that wider COVID-19 restrictions having been eased, Nottinghamshire County Council has announced the advance booking system at its West Bridgford facility on Rugby Road will be removed from Monday November 1st. Free School Holiday Meals to Continue

Ruddington’s schools are welcoming the announcement by Nottinghamshire County Council that it will continue to fund Free School Meals for the October half-term and over two weeks at Christmas. This means that village schoolchildren will be among more than 25,000 across the county who will receive 250,000 meals during the October break. House Prices Increase by the Most Since 2007

Mortgage lender Halifax has reported this week that house prices in the UK rose by the most in almost 15 years during September. This came as the stamp-duty holiday came to an end – and the Halifax predicts that prices will continue to climb to new record high levels. Prices rose by 1.7% from August, the biggest monthly increase since February 2007.
