A familiar face has been missing from the Junior Parkrun at Rushcliffe Country Park this year – that of Neil Breward – who only in November was celebrating volunteering at the weekly, Ruddington event for the 100th time. Villagers are being asked to offer support to one of Ruddington’s most famous residents – who is out of action again following an accident earlier this week. Dave Bartram is back in the Queens Medical Centre with broken ribs and a suspected broken sternum after the incident – reported by Nottinghamshire Live on Friday to be a car crash in Ruddington last Monday. Ruddington Makers’ Night Returns

Following the success of the debut event in June, the organisers of Ruddington Village Market are putting on a second ‘Makers Night’ for Christmas, a special festive craft evening across three main village venues and some of our high street shops. Trading conditions for independent butchers have never been tougher – with many people now cutting down on meat or giving it up altogether. Ruddington’s motorists are being warned to brace themselves for more autumn disruption as our raft of recent village roadworks continues over the next couple of weeks. From 6am this Saturday 26th October until 8pm Sunday 27th October, work by Western Power Distribution on High Street means double yellow lines and parking places between its junctions with Charles Street and Church Street will be unavailable. Hunting for Hallowe’en!

A dozen of Ruddington’s village centre traders have got together to create a not-too-spooky event for our younger residents and visitors to enjoy this Hallowe’en. The family friendly ‘Hallowe’en Treasure Hunt’ is taking place this Saturday October 26th between 3pm and 5pm, and anyone with children is invited to join in.
