With another spell of fine weather forecast, Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) is reminding parents and guardians that ALL its play areas are CLOSED until further notice due to the Coronavirus lockdown. These are at Elms Park, Sellors’ Playing Field (above), Vicarage Lane Playing Field (below) and St Mary’s Community Park. Ruddington Play Area Closed by Coronavirus

Rushcliffe Borough Council has has now sealed off the play area at Rushcliffe Country Park until further notice. The closure – which came into force at 3pm today (Monday 23rd March) – is in light of the rapid spread of the potentially lethal COVID-19 Coronavirus across our region. Ruddington Running Event Called Off

Promoters have announced the postponement of this weekend’s Rushcliffe 10K & Running Festival – which was due to take place in Rushcliffe Country Park on Sunday (1st March 2020). It’s been cancelled due to safely fears following severe flooding of parts of the course over the last fortnight after the almost unprecedented spell of rain. A team of inspiring British athletes, who have overcome ill health and successful organ transplants, are heading to Canada to compete in the eleventh World Transplant Winter Games at the end of this month. Parish Council Buys Community Centre

Ruddington Parish Council has announced it has now completed the purchase of the former Youth & Community Centre site on The Green from Nottinghamshire County Council for use by our community in the future. It’ll be considering options on how to use the building (pictured above, in 2017, before it was targeted by vandals) and consulting with residents and local businesses in due course. Robin Hood Marathon Green 10 Changes

The annual Robin Hood Marathon is taking place this Sunday 29th September which will affect Nottingham City Transport buses crossing the route, including Ruddington’s Green 10 and Green 10C services. Some disruption will occur between 8.30am and 1.30pm. During all of this period: Green 10/10C from Ruddington will follow its normal route to Trent Bridge and then continue along London Road (the Victoria Embankment stop will be closed), and left Canal Street to the Broadmarsh area, where it will resume its normal route to the City Centre. It’s just over two months since the relative peace and quiet of a Sunday evening in Ruddington was shattered by the dramatic arrival of fire crews, cordoning off High Street and smashing through the door to tackle a blaze at our village bookmakers. Evening Disruption for Ruddington Bound Buses

Nottingham City Transport is advising passengers of changes to its Green 10 service for almost three weeks whilst Nottinghamshire County Council carries out resurfacing work on part of the A60 – including Trent Bridge and Loughborough Road. This work will mean the closure of that part of the A60 to all traffic and, as a result, its Navy and Green line services will need to be diverted from Monday 15th July 2019 until Thursday 1st August inclusive between 7.00pm and 5.00am each night.
