Time for a New Home in 2021?

Are you thinking of moving in the new year? You are not alone! December in the property industry is historically a quiet month, with most people busy preparing for Christmas, whilst everything else gets put on hold,…

New Ruddington Businesses Open After ‘Lockdown’

When it was announced that Ruddington would be in ‘Tier 3’ on emerging from the second ‘lockdown’, the news was greeted with understandable dismay by many in our hospitality sector who’ve worked so hard to make their premises COVID-safe during these unprecedented times. For now, the Coronavirus pandemic means our village pubs, cafes and restaurants must stay closed or continue to trade as takeaways only – many with severely reduced opening hours. However, at least non-essential shops, gyms and personal care services in Ruddington, such as our now numerous village hair salons…

Ruddington Buses’ Return to Tier 3

Following the second national ‘lockdown’ in England, Ruddington’s main bus operator says the return to a slightly less stringent set of Tier 3 COVID-19 restrictions this December will not alter the existing schedules of either its Navy 3 and Green 10 village services.* It’s hoped that Nottingham City Transport (NCT) maintaining its current service levels will mean emptier buses – for improved social distancing and therefore safer travel up to the festive holidays. NCT has also announced its special schedules over Christmas and the New Year. You can find out specifically how Ruddington’s…

Christmas in Ruddington

As December begins, for most of us the festive season ahead is likely to be a rather different affair to the one we’d normally be able to enjoy. Even if Ruddington drops from Tier 3 to Tier 2 in mid-December, followed by the Government’s promised five days of even looser COVID-19 restrictions over Christmas, the threat of Coronavirus will still be looming large over everything we do. However, a number of ‘low risk’ activities and initiatives are taking place this month in our village to try to get Ruddingtonians into…

Hospitality Hit Hardest by ‘Return’ to Tier 3

Today’s news that Ruddington will fall back under Tier 3 restrictions when the current ‘lockdown’ ends has not come as a great surprise to residents and traders. However, the Government’s decision to make revised Tier 3 measures even harsher for the hospitality sector has understandably caused dismay among our many village pub, restaurant and cafe owners. From December 2nd they’ll find themselves remaining under the same restrictions as during the current COVID-19 ‘lockdown’, rather than being able to open again if they are serving substantial meals, as previously. So, in line with the…
