Nottinghamshire Police have revealed two suspects were arrested in our village within the space of a few minutes this week thanks to a new crackdown on car thefts. Operational Support and Response officers have stepped up targeted patrols around the Edwalton area, following a recent rise in vehicle theft reports there, and were carrying out one such patrol when a car was taken from a local driveway. As Ruddington heads into the festive season, Rushcliffe Police have released their latest monthly statistics showing that reported crime here more than doubled in a month. Whilst only four crimes were listed during October, new November statistics show nine separate offences in our village which were reported to officers online or via 101. Ruddington crime figures for last month just revealed by Rushcliffe Police show a spike in thefts, burglaries and items stolen from motor vehicles in our village – though without any criminal damage recorded this time around. It seems the various building sites around Ruddington at the moment are presenting new opportunities for criminals. Rushcliffe Police are reassuring householders they’ve increased their presence in Ruddington in the wake of a spate of criminal activity during the night in our village. Officers confirm several recent incidents this week – concerning interference with vehicles and burglary – mainly between 1.00am and 3.00am. Thefts From Cars and Burglaries Increase Village Crime Rate

After a post-lockdown ‘spike’ in April, then a ‘quieter’ month in May, June again saw an increase in Ruddington crimes reported to Rushcliffe Police. Statistics just released show there were fifteen incidents logged by officers for our village during last month – which is 50% more than in the month before.
