A Feast of Free Trees!

For the past six years, Ruddington residents have been offered the chance to make our properties greener by applying for ‘free trees’ from Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Over 10,000 trees have been distributed since the start of this campaign in 2018. In previous years the authority has given villagers an option of TWO trees to apply for. £400,000 Grant for ‘Green’ Apprenticeships

An educational centre in Ruddington, which helps to train vehicle mechanics of the future, is celebrating new Government funding to develop a brand-new facility specialising in the ‘decarbonisation’ of vehicles. Nottingham College’s EMTEC Centre on Mere Way is already home to its commercial and automotive employer services offer. It provides specialist automotive training to some 735 apprentices through partnerships with internationally renowned automotive brands including Hyundai, Genesis, Ssang Yong and more. Cyclists now have some further options to secure their bikes in our village centre, thanks to two double cycle racks just installed on The Green by Ruddington Parish Council. Green Grant for Ruddington Firm

A village-based business has secured £300,000 to completely replace its existing heating system – which should reduce its carbon emissions in Ruddington by around 150 tonnes a year.  Artex Limited will use the funds to install a much greener ‘biomass’ heating system at its Pasture Lane site. Our village’s newest High Street shop is leading a 31 day challenge to reduce our negative impact on the environment. The Bottle Top is supporting the global campaign “Plastic Free July” by producing a “Low Waste Starter Pack” for anyone to download and follow. Eco Buses For Green 10 Service

Nottingham City Transport has confirmed that Ruddington will be one of the first places to benefit from its brand new eco-friendly buses. Several will be introduced on our Green 10 route early next month.
