Ruddington’s Refurbished Play Area Opens!

After delays caused by the inclement weather, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) says its major refurbishment and upgrade work in the play area at Ruddington’s country park is complete – with brand new, accessible equipment now open for children to enjoy. The new-look Rushcliffe Country Park recreational facility boasts a new ‘Kanope Tower’ multi-play unit featuring 14 different play elements and a new wooden trail and offers panoramic views of the park. This latest £175,000 of investment by RBC at Rushcliffe Country Park includes adding a new ‘Kanope Tower’ multi-play unit {pictured top} featuring 14 different play elements and a new wooden trail. Under Fives’ Female Football Reaches Ruddington!

Did you know Ruddington now has its very own football team for girls under the age of five? Not only that, it’s currently the only female soccer squad in our village. Ruddington Village Football Club, Under Five Girls team was started in September last year, and meets on a Sunday morning at Jubilee Playing Fields, off Loughborough Road.  All girls of reception age are welcome, and it now has a dozen regular players (eight of whom are pictured above). Fancy Singing In Our Choir?

For over ten years now members of Ruddington Community Choir have been entertaining audiences – and themselves – with weekly rehearsals leading to regular concerts both in our village and further afield. Organisers of Ruddington’s biennial ‘Teddy Bear Parachute Jump’ – which took place at St Peter’s Church over the weekend – have hailed their event another success.
