Children’s ‘Summer Reading Challenge’ 2023

For kids aged 4 to 11 years old, this year’s challenge is ‘Ready, Set, Read!‘ Choose ANY 6 library books to read over the summer holidays. The Summer Reading Challenge is at Ruddington Library and is running from now until Sunday 3rd September.

Organiser Inspire says this year’s Challenge is “Themed around the power of play, sport and games, children will help our fictional superstar team (and their marvellous mascots!) weave their way through a summer obstacle course.”

For children aged 3 and under, there’s a special Mini Challenge for younger readers. “Children collect 6 stickers on a collector card for the books they borrow, earning a special gold sticker when they complete the mini challenge” explains the Library.

  • Children read 6 library books of their choice, collect special stickers and other rewards each time they finish a book
